Printmaking

Creating art just makes me happy. I lose track of time when I’m in the studio and forget all that troubles me. With gel printing you can pull a print, look at it and it may not be what you envisioned. Then you roll some new colors on the plate and using that same print, you pull another print and you are amazed at what you created!

I converted my daughter’s old bedroom into my studio. It is my happy place. One wall is a bright yellow and just makes me smile. The curtains have flowers just like I had on the walls of my room growing up in Brooklyn in the 70s. It brings back those lovely memories of a simpler happy time.

I create monoprints using paints, leaves and other items for texture on a gel plate. I also use my gel plate prints in collage work.
