My ceramics and printmaking are influenced by the quiet complexity of the natural world: leaves, roots, stones, seed pods, weather, and the marks left by time. I am drawn to forms and patterns that feel both ordinary and ancient, and I use clay and printmaking to slow down and pay attention to them. Through texture, repetition, and hand-built forms, my work explores the relationship between place, memory, and the small details that connect us to the land.
Rachael has a home studio but will be exhibiting her works at the Burd`s Nest Gallery. She will bring some small printmaking presses for hands-on activities/demos.
My ceramics work is influenced by the forms found in nature. I create organic functional pieces in subtle color palettes. While ceramics is the primary focus for this call for entry, I am also a printmaker and can display relief prints that are also nature-influenced.
